Final thoughts on safety.
While every Boom and Scissor lift from Territory Plant Hire comes packed with all of the modern safety features one could want and the equipment operating well and well maintained.
It must be said that safety should be a concern for anyone operating an elevated work platform. Too many brave colleagues and friends have become a little too confident in their abilities and have sadly perished or been caused great harm by the unsafe operation of such equipment.
So please, for everyone's sake.
Ensure that you have a qualified operator who is aware of all of the safety concerns.
Identify any live powerlines in the area before operation and remain aware of them during operation. Think, look and plan before you move.
Reduce driving distances with the boom extended as much as possible and retract the boom before driving any long distance.
Wear a harness and strap yourself into the platform before raising the boom and do not hang from the outside of the platform.
Identify loose or unstable earth, dips, gutters, rocks and otherwise rough terrain within the work area before operation of the boom and retract the boom before attempting to cross such terrain.
Avoid operating in rainy, wet, windy and otherwise dangerous weather conditions.
Practise common sense. If it looks like it's risky, then reduce the risk as much as possible.
